Description:     In the September show we’ll learn how a world class artist transforms what should be dull and repetitive subject matter into visual fireworks. We will find out how a sculptor of horses makes her animals interesting precisely because they are about much more than riding or the great outdoors. Animals are very much a part of the work of a much younger artist, who provides us with insight into nature’s protean and brutal power. We’ll also see how beauty and brutality metaphorically get together at the U.S.-Mexican border. Then we’ll take a look at light, produced by the latest technology as well as by traditional illustionism. And we will learn why an art critic is perfectly happy not to have the last word.
