Description:     In the July/August show we’ll hear about how one artist changed the course of cultural history, but why he may not stand the test of time. We’ll consider how a group of artists used plastic and mirrors to cast L.A. as a refuge for pantheism’s last frontier, and then why some of our most prominent painters set down their brushes in favor of the loom. We’ll meet a young painter from the UK whose “Airheads” are actually quite smart. Finally, we’ll visit L.A.’s own Roman Villa dei Papiri, brought out from the ashes of ancient Vesuvius.
